Global Ties U.S.: Director of Finance and Operations

John Seong leads the team that oversees the financial and administrative operations of Global Ties U.S. This includes supporting the pass-through of millions of dollars of grant funds to members of the Global Ties Network, and providing the operational backbone for Global Ties U.S. staff to carry out their responsibilities.
Seong is a retired U.S. Senior Foreign Service Officer with 30 years of international affairs experience. He has served and worked in more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Eurasia.
Seong is also a licensed CPA, a Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Internal Auditor with 10 years of progressive financial and audit management experience with an international accounting firm and Fortune 100 companies. He ensures transparency and accountability of Global Ties U.S. in all areas of operations through training, standardized policies, procedures and systems. Seong’s strong focus on results-orientation has markedly improved financial results and internal controls of Global Ties U.S.
Seong holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from the State University of New York at Albany and an MS in National Resource Management Study from the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
