American Society of Hematology: Senior Manager, Sickle Cell Disease Community Engagement
Impact Search Advisors by Nonprofit HR is proud to have partnered with American Society of Hematology on this search that has successfully closed. Justine Nicholas was selected for the position.
Justine Nicholas is a dynamic and results-oriented clinical research professional with over six years of progressive research experience managing industry and federally-sponsored clinical trials.
Nicholas is a subject matter expert in patient engagement facilitated by strong healthcare research partnership and retention of minority populations in clinical trials. She is highly effective in project life cycle, workflow management, strategic partnership liaison, regulatory compliance, research design and execution, and data management.
Nicholas is passionate about the “why should we care?” aspect of bench-to-bedside research, because it highlights (1) our need to connect, having relationships and community at the core of good science, and (2) the importance of curated scientific communication. Outside of her time in the day-to-day management of clinical trials, she runs workshops on how to improve scientific communication in biomedical research. She’s also a council member of UF’s Diversity and Cultural Competence Council (DC3), housed in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. During her tenure with DC3, the organization is actively researching, engaging, and supporting local and regional DEI efforts that address equality and diversity within the UF’s Clinical Research Professional workforce. Recent outcomes from DEI efforts have led to scientific publications, a three-part series university-wide storytelling event about DEI in the CRP workforce, collaboration with other Clinical and Translational Research Institutes nationally, and grant funding to further efforts in this space.
