Tim Payne has proven capabilities in fundraising, relationship cultivation, management, budgeting, strategic planning and oversight of high impact programming and partnerships. He is a deeply committed and passionate leader who is focused on supporting individuals, teams and partners to align, build towards continuous improvement and achieve meaningful results that strengthen communities. In addition to professional experience, he has a passion for youth sports and fitness.
Prior to joining Leadership Howard County, Payne was Executive Director of Raise DC, which builds partnerships throughout Washington, D.C., to improve educational outcomes for the city’s children and youth. Payne led a team of six senior-level managers, fundraised in support of a $1-million operating budget, cultivated relationships with community stakeholders, coordinated project and program
measurements, facilitated strategic planning sessions and supported the evolution of the organization’s diversity, equity and inclusion principles.
Previously, Payne led For Love of Children as Executive Director. For Love of Children provides out-of-classroom educational services to under-resourced youth in Washington, D.C. Payne developed and led project planning, strengthened community outreach and ensured the organization’s long-term sustainability. Under his leadership, the organization’s fundraising achieved annual revenue growth from $1.5 to $2.1 million.
